You were my voice when I couldn't speak

You were my hope when I was lost

 

You were sunshine on a rainy day

You were medicine that took the pain away

 

You were Love twenty-four seven 

You were my footsteps leading to Heaven

 

You were my teacher when I didn't understand

You were my backbone to help me stand

 

You were my dinner when my cabinet was empty

You were my bill when I didn't get paid

 

You were my honesty in the middle of confusion

You were beauty when my self-esteem was low

 

You were my ride when I didn't have a car

You were my vacation no matter how far

 

You were the light in spite of my fears

You were the puddle that caught my tears

 

You were my friend when I was alone

You were my smile all day long

 

You were strength when I was weak

You were my secret that I needed to keep

 

You were right when I went wrong

You are the answers to my prayers
